This system was installed and commissioned in Taipei over a period of three weeks (August 22 to September 14). During the installation, a two typhoons crossed Taiwan.

A software suite for processing of the Terra and Aqua MODIS images was developed by ES&S, and customized for this installation. This provides calibrated and navigated data (L1B), and high level products including temperature, pressure and water vapour profiles. The METEOR image processing suite installed with the system allows operators and forecasters to further process and dispaly the data.
