ES&S
has supplied a stress monitoring system for the Oyu Tolgoi copper
and gold mine development project in southern Mongolia.
Ivanhoe's Oyu Tolgoi copper-gold mining is located in Mongolia's South
Gobi region. In 2007 ES&S supplied Oyu Tolgoi with overcoring
stress instrumentation to aid mine design. The installation services
were undertaken by Mining Measurement Services.
The second phase includes a system that is designed to be portable monitoring
longterm stress changes using CSIRO HI Cells.
