BHP Billiton - Hunter River Remediation Project (HRRP)
BHP Billiton’s Hunter River Remediation Project (HRRP) is an environmental project that will clean up areas of the river bed contaminated by industrial activities related to the former Newcastle Steelworks in New South Wales, Australia.
BHP Billiton used a clean-up process that applied proven and effective techniques and technologies. As part of this process, careful selection of equipment and expertise ensured the best possible outcomes. Environmental Systems and Services (ES&S) provided field staff for 4 months to assist with this project, providing onsite recommendations, analysis of data and software programming. A sophisticated network of Geotechnical instrumentation was also provided by ES&S to aid engineers
in the design and verification of their projections
