ES&S reception of MTSAT

The
new MTSAT spacecraft is now broadcasting over the Asian region, and
ES&S have begun installing groundstations capable of making use
of the advanced features of this latest satellite.
ES&S have just commissioned a new MTSAT groundstation for Offshore
Weather Services P/L, in Melbourne.
OWS are a long term client of ES&S, and have been using ES&S
GMS, GVAR groundstations for several years.
The latest OWS system upgrades a previous GOES groundstation to the
new MTSAT HRIT transmission. The images produced are of a superior quality,
and provide more accurate navigation than the older GOES satellite.
OWS uses the latest data to produce infrared and visible images for
detailed meteorological analysis and forecasting in the Asian region.
