Australian Company wins Chinese contract for new high-tech weather systems for the Antarctic |

Environmental Systems & Services Pty Ltd (ES&S) is pleased to announce a $1 million contract with the Polar Research Institute of China for new high-tech X and L band weather satellite systems. These comprise two new satellite tracking groundstations and associated software for data processing and display.
The groundstations will be installed at the Zhongshan base and the Great Wall base in Antarctic during the 2009-10 summer to contribute to remote sensed, atmospheric, oceanographic and seaice data polar research programs. In addition to these stations, ES&S will install data processing and display systems at the Research Institute's offices in Beijing and Shanghai.
