ES&S supplies world leading atmospheric profiling solutions from Anasphere. ES&S supplies a single low-cost receiver which is able to address multiple modules attached to a blimp, kite or tether to gather atmospheric profiles in the lower troposphere. It is orders of magnitude faster and less expensive as compared to traditional tethersonde systems and allows users to collect data simultaneously at multiple points along a tether. SmartTether applications include boundary layer wind profiling, fire weather, pollution monitoring, emergency response and flux measurements.

The individual modules on the tethersonde are capable of measuring multiple parameters including pressure, temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and wind direction. The modules have extra analog and digital interfaces for additional sensors allowing the user to customize their system. The tethersonde can be used to gather flux measurements by making several vertically separated measurements of the species of interest (e.g., carbon dioxide).
